Groundbreaking on ARRA-funded Kingston Wind Turbine program
State and local officials were at the ground breaking for the Kingston Wind Turbine Program at the Kingston Layover Facility, a 100-kilowatt wind turbine that will power 65 percent of the Kingston commuter rail station's energy supply. The $2.5 million project is funded through Recovery Act and builds on the Patrick-Murray Administration's efforts to invest in transportation infrastructure and create a more energy efficient Commonwealth. Stimulus Stories: Providing green training, a career and a future
The Union’s Education Fund received stimulus funds to train its members for careers in the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries as well as other green industries. To that end, the union is providing members with classes in in how to install and service the newest energy efficient systems. The four-day training program involves classroom instruction and hands on training in the Union’s training centers. Read more.
