Stimulus-funded radio training program for the visually impaired is launchedThe Vocational Opportunities in Communications Education Program for the blind, a new program to help visually-impaired students, has been launched. Funding for the program was provided through the Recovery Act. During the new 12-week program, visually impaired students will learn skills that will prepare them for careers in broadcasting, including on-air presentation, producing and editing. Read more.
Recovery Works: Innovative company grows in Holliston, aims to help diabeticsFor diabetics, lower limb amputations are a harsh fact of life. Liberating Technologies, a company that makes prosthetic limbs, is trying to change that reality. The Holliston-based company is in the process of developing a product that will help those stricken with that illness avoid those amputations. And it is a stimulus award that is helping the company achieve that goal. Read more.
