Instructions for Ordering Special Plates

Please read these terms carefully before ordering a Special Plate.

Special plates are randomly assigned. You may not request a particular plate number or retain your current plate number.

You will need your Massachusetts Registration to process your order. In addition, you must meet the following criteria:

1. Your order can only be processed if there are no changes to your current registration.
2. You must be the registered owner of the vehicle.
3. Company-owned and Leased vehicles cannot order special plates on-line.
4. The address on your registration MUST be your current address.
5. The Massachusetts license number used on this form should match the license number of one of the registered owners.

Important: If your current registration expires in the current month, and today's date is greater than the 15th, you will not be able to process your transaction via the Internet. For assistance, please call the Telephone Center.
