3. How can I get a duplicate license?
   
   If you have a photo-imaged license, you may request a duplicate via our website or by calling the RMV Telephone Center.
   
   


4. What do I need to get my learner's permit?
   
   Please refer to our License Information section for a list of requirements and necessary identification.
   
   


5. How can I get a duplicate learner's permit?

   You must appear in person at an RMV office to have a duplicate permit issued for $15. If your permit has expired you need to take and pass the written test and pay the $30 fee to obtain an updated permit.

7. May I get a clearance letter faxed to another state?

    Yes, you may now get a Massachusetts Identification card if you are at least 16. You must be 21 to get a Liquor ID.
    
    


11. I was recently married/divorced and need to correct my name on my license/ID. What do I need to do?
    
    You should make the change with the Social Security Administration(SSA) before you change your name on your driver's license. This is to ensure that the SSA recognizes your new name when the RMV attempts to validate your SSN
    
    Please visit any full service RMV office. You will need your social security card w/ your new name, a completed License/ID Update Application , and $20 to have the amended license/id issued.
    
    


12. I currently have my SSN as my license/ID number. How can I change this to a random, state assigned number?
