These are examples of acceptable bioptic telescopic lenses. Notice that the telescope is over one eye only and is mounted in the upper quadrant of the lens. A physician or optometrist must certify that the bioptic telescopic lens to be used for driving meets all of the criteria described in this policy statement before a bioptic lens wearer may be deemed vision qualified to operate a motor vehicle.
