Haverhill Branch Celebrates First Anniversary

Haverhill 1st anniversaryThe Haverhill Registry office celebrated its first anniversary with Registrar Daniel A. Grabauskas welcoming Senator James Jajuga, Mayor James Rurak, Representatives Brian Dempsey and Paul Tirone to the branch office for a reception. The Haverhill Registry Office opened its doors for business on January 28, 2000. The branch was opened in order to relieve the high volume of customers at the Lawrence and Lowell Registry Offices and to increase convenience for residents of the Merrimack Valley.

"We recognized the Merrimack Valley as a region that needed improved Registry service, and we assembled a crack team to run the office," said Registrar Grabauskas. "But the success of the Haverhill Registry Branch has exceeded even our highest expectations."

The office space, located in Haverhill Town Hall, was made available to the Registry free of charge by Mayor Rurak and the city of Haverhill. Since opening, the Haverhill branch has averaged 1330 customers per week, and has served more than 69,000 during the last year.
