Increase in Learner's Permit Fee
Please note that effective July 1, 2003 the cost for Class B,C,D, and M learner's permits will be $30 and will be valid for two years from the date of issue. Class A learner's permits (2 year permit with Combo Endorsement) will now cost $40.

United We Stand Plates Now Available in RMV Branches
United We Stand plates are now available in Registry of Motor Vehicles branches statewide, with early indications that they will be among the Registry's most popular specialty plates.
The plates, which feature a U.S. flag in the background and the letters US followed by four numbers, cost $40, with proceeds benefiting the Massachusetts 9/11 Fund, which aids local families of victims, local police and fire departments, and the U.S. Department of Justice's Rewards for Justice Program.
