Thousands Vie for Low Number Plates in RMV Lottery

(Boston, MA)-They are some of the most coveted license plates in the Commonwealth--tags with catchy numbers and letters like 1776, 1Z and 6K. On Wednesday, September 12, 2007, Registrar Anne L. Collins will spin the drum to pick 205 lucky winners who will be awarded the plates.

This year's license plate lottery which attracted 3,972 applicants will be held at the Transportation Building. Plates will be presented in the order they are listed on the "2007 plate list" which can be found along with the lottery rules on www.Mass.Gov/RMV . Winners of all 205 plates will be contacted by the RMV with instructions on how to swap plates.
