Seminars and Technical Assistance

DLS Consultants can provide training seminars to your employees or multi-employer groups and help you establish or strengthen your safety and health program. Consultants can also provide technical support in any safety and health related area. You can get offsite technical aids about OSHA standards, guidelines, or interpretations by contacting the program. The consultation program has model programs for many of the OSHA-required written plans; such as:

  • hazard communication
  • lockout/tagout
  • emergency action plan
  • confined-space entry
  • blood-borne pathogens

Awareness Seminars and OSHA 10-Hour Outreach for small- and medium-sized private-sector businesses

In-Person OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Training Programs

This 10-hour in-person training is a safety and health course designed by OSHA that covers safety and health basics for workers in high-risk industries. The goal of the OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Training Program is to help make workers aware of common safety and health hazards they may find on the job, as well as their right to work in a safe and healthful workplace. There are two different OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Training Programs, one specific to construction and one specific to general industry.

In-Person Awareness Seminars

Fall Protection in Residential Construction Seminar
This 2-hour in-person awareness seminar is designed for residential construction contractors and reviews relevant OSHA fall protection regulations and common hazards that can lead to a fall. Also, learn how to eliminate that hazard and/or how to make sure workers are protected from falls when working from roofs, ladders, and scaffolds.

Virtual Awareness Seminars:

OSHA Recordkeeping Rule 
This 2-hour virtual awareness seminar will help employers understand and fulfill their responsibilities for recording responsibilities under OSHA’s revised Recordkeeping Rule 29 CFR 1904. Learn which injuries and illnesses need to be recorded and reported to OSHA, and which records need to be posted annually in the workplace. Also, learn how and when to submit records electronically to OSHA.

Hazard Awareness in General Industry
This 2.5-hour virtual awareness seminar was designed to inform employers and workers about common hazards found in general industry workplaces. Learn about relevant OSHA regulations, how to identify hazards, and common solutions to these workplace hazards. Often-cited OSHA regulations will be discussed, such as, hazard communication, workplace emergencies, machine guarding, electrical hazards, and more.
