The application process is a four step process.
Registration:
Registration can occur directly after graduation from college. This begins the process of communication with the Commonwealth Covenant Fund in anticipation of meeting all requirements for the program.
Pre-Qualification:
Pre-Qualification occurs when an applicant has:
- Registered
- Sent the following to the Commonwealth Covenant Fund:
- a certified copy of their transcript
- a certified copy of the FAFSA for their final year in school.
Eligible:
A student is eligible for a grant once he/she is pre-qualified and has:
- Submitted a letter from their employer certifying:
- Annual salary
- Start date of employment
- A current loan payment summary for the loan to be paid by the Grant (if approved). The summary must provide the loan account number, address to which the grant should be sent and demonstrate all payments are up to date.
Approved:
A student's request is approved when it has been voted on by the Board of the Commonwealth Covenant Fund. The first Board meeting scheduled to approve requests will be in January, 2009.
