Residency

  • Applicant must reside in the Commonwealth

Graduation

  • graduate from a public institution of higher education in the Commonwealth on or after December 1, 2007
  • obtain a degree in a STEM field
  • complete degree program within 3 years of reaching junior-year standing

Personal and Family Income

  • FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) during senior year should document family at or below 300 percent of the federal poverty level in that year;

Employment Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed at least 1 year of employment in a STEM field within the Commonwealth;
  • income can not exceed $65,000 for a single filer and $80,000 per year for joint filers;

Loans

  • Amount granted will be applied to principal of loan
  • Applicant will provide a loan statement document, no more than 60 days in advance of certification deadline, that contains the following information:
    • Loan balance
    • Account number
    • Payments are current
    • Address to which payment should be sent
  • Credit card loans and loans made by family members are not eligible.
  • While not currently eligible for program if GPA is below 3.0, you are encouraged to complete just the registration process. You will be notified if any changes in program criteria are made that would make you eligible.
