Women in STEM

On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, Treasurer Deb Goldberg and Dr. Zorica Pantić hosted a Women in STEM Summit at Wentworth Institute of Technology to uncover how to break down barriers and build a pipeline for women to participate in our state's innovation economy, which includes the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Recommendations gathered at the summit will help inform future STEM programming offered through the Office of Economic Empowerment.

It is the first fellowship of its kind sponsored by a government organization, and is open to female undergraduate students who reside in Massachusetts or attend an institution of higher education in Massachusetts.

The purpose of the program is to identify and foster female talent for the finance industry, build a network and pipeline for women in finance, and advocate for the placement of women in leadership roles.

The Fellows admitted into the program benefit from a mentoring program designed to help them navigate the industry, and participate in interactive educational workshops.
