Membership in the twenty member Financial Literacy Trust Fund Board is determined by Mass. General Laws Ch. 10, 35QQ. The Treasurer shall be a member ex-officio and shall serve as Chairman, and a board of trustees, 2 of whom shall be appointed by the senate president and one of whom shall be appointed by the minority leader of the senate; 2 of whom shall be appointed by the speaker of the house and 1 of whom shall be appointed by the minority leader of the house; the state treasurer or a designee, who shall serve as chair; the attorney general or a designee; the undersecretary of consumer affairs and business regulation or a designee; the secretary of education or a designee; the commissioner of elementary and secondary education or a designee; the secretary of housing and urban development, and 8 person t be appointed by the Treasurer who shall have experience in fundraising, education or financial services.

Unless otherwise noted, the board meets quarterly on the third or fourth Tuesday of the month.
