Membership in the twenty member Financial Literacy Trust Fund Board is determined by Mass. General Laws Ch. 10, 35QQ. The Treasurer shall be a member ex-officio and shall serve as Chairman, and a board of trustees, 2 of whom shall be appointed by the senate president and one of whom shall be appointed by the minority leader of the senate; 2 of whom shall be appointed by the speaker of the house and 1 of whom shall be appointed by the minority leader of the house; the state treasurer or a designee, who shall serve as chair; the attorney general or a designee; the undersecretary of consumer affairs and business regulation or a designee; the secretary of education or a designee; the commissioner of elementary and secondary education or a designee; the secretary of housing and urban development, and 8 persons to be appointed by the Treasurer who shall have experience in fundraising, education or financial services.
Unless otherwise noted, the board meets quarterly on the third or fourth Tuesday of the month.
Newly appointed board members will be posted upon the next convening of the Board.
