Veterans' Resource Fair

When: Friday, October 16, 2015  10 AM–2 PM  Where: O'Neill Hall, 15 Wallace Ave, Fitchburg, MA 

Hosted by the City of Fitchburg Veterans' Services, Massachusetts veterans can learn about benefits and resources available. Organizations include: Army Wounded Warrior Program, Consumer Credit Counseling, Fitchburg State University, NEADS: Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, Social Security Administration, Veterans Inc., and more! Women Veteran Luncheon

When: Saturday, October 17, 2015  11 AM–2 PM  Where: Lombardos, 6 Billings St, Randolph MA 

Hosted by the Governor's Advisory Committee on Women Veterans' and the MA Women Veterans' Network. Join us as we honor women who have served past and present! New England Roasted Turkey Dinner will be served, along with speakers, jewelry sale/raffle, and a chance to meet other women veterans. Vietnam Veterans Statewide Appreciation Day

When: Sunday, October 18, 2015 2 PM–6 PM  Where: Start: West Roxbury VA Hospital, 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132; End: Billings Field, 380 Lagrange Street, West Roxbury, MA 02132

In remembrance of the 40th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, there will be a statewide appreciation day for Vietnam veterans. Sponsored by the Massachusetts Marine Corps League, there will be a "Thank You for Your Service" Parade beginning at the West Roxbury VA Hospital, and end at Billings Field for a cookout, music, and information for veterans and their families. Heroes Remembered: An Event Honoring WWII Veterans

When: Friday, October 23, 2015 1 PM–3 PM  Where: The Hall of Flags, 1 Quebec Street, Fort Devens, MA 01434

World War II veterans and their families are invited to attend this event honoring Massachusetts' WWII veterans. Co-hosted by State Representatives Jennifer Benson and Sheila Harrington, this event is a traditional military program, with special guest speaker Governor Charlie Baker. There will be a Color Guard, patriotic music selections and a performance of the National Anthem, and a reading of a special proclamation by Governor Baker. Parking will be available, and is handicap accessible. It is requested that guests be seated by 1 PM. 

Women Veterans' Retreat

When: Saturday, October 24, 2015 9 AM–3 PM  Where: Ted Williams Camp, 28 Precinct Street, Lakeville, MA 02347

Hosted by the Women Veterans' Network, all women veterans are welcome to attend this relaxing retreat with fellow sister veterans. Workshops include: relaxation techniques to manage stress and sleep, communication tools for better communication and relationships.Facilitated by Joanie Winberg, a certified interpersonal skills specialist, divorce mentor, and conflict resolution/stress management trainer. Certified yoga instructor, Linda Perry, will also be there. Breakfast and lunch will be served, free of charge. RSVP by October 19th here.

Annual Veterans' Day Ceremony 

When: Wednesday, November 11, 2015 10 AM  Where: Memorial Hall of the Massachusetts State House, 24 Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02133

The annual Veterans' Day Ceremony at the State House will occur at 10 AM sharp on November 11th, hosted by Secretary Ureña and the Department of Veterans' Services.

Boots2Suits Career Event

When: Thursday, November 17, 2015 9 AM–2:30 PM  Where: Great Hall (2nd Floor) of the Massachusetts State House, 24 Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02133

Hosted by Tailored for Success, Inc., there will be a free career event for veterans. Doors open at 9 am for a check in; there will also be a continental breakfast for all participants followed by a speaking program.
