American Legion Auxiliary

The American Legion Auxiliary offers a Non-Traditional Student Scholarship for a student who is a member of the American Legion, Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion, that is returning to the classroom after some period of time in which his/her formal schooling was interrupted or a student who has had at least one year of college and is in need of financial assistance to pursue an undergraduate degree.To see complete application guidelines, visit the link above.

The American Legion Auxiliary offers the Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship to support the children of service members who have a dedication to academics and their community. Fifteen students are awarded each year who are pursuing an undergraduate degree at a four-year accredited college or university. For criteria and the application visit the link above.

Heidrea for Heroes, Inc.

Heidrea for Heroes, Inc. is proud to offer their first scholarship: the Veteran Legacy Scholarship, for the child of a veteran who could benefit from financial assistance. 

Students must meet the following guidelines and apply by April 18:

-Student must be a son/daughter of a veteran or going into the ROTC at a higher education institution.
-Student must be a senior in high school.
-Student must have maintained between a 2.5 & 4.0 GPA throughout his/her final two years of high school.
-Student is planning to enroll full-time in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited higher education institution, or an advanced vocational/technical school (i.e. culinary school), in the Fall directly after graduating from high school.
-Student must demonstrate a genuine need for these funds.
-Student must live in one of the following counties: Barnstable, Bristol, Norfolk, Plymouth, or Worcester (certain towns).

Apply online here, or send a hard copy of the application form (see previous link), a copy of the parent's DD214 with an honorable discharge listed (N/A if going into ROTC), two recommendation letters (one from a coach, employer, or mentor, and one from a teacher), proof of current GPA, documentation that shows a need for the scholarship.

Veterans United Foundation Scholarship

Veterans United Foundation enables service members and military families to pursue education. The Foundation awards up to three scholarships to eligible recipients, up to $20,000. For full application, visit the link above. Starting March 7, 2016 at 8 a.m. CST, there will be a link to apply for the scholarship on the above linked page. The link will close on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 5 p.m. CST.
