When a soldier is deployed, the soldier's family goes to war as well. When the soldier returns home, both the soldier and the soldier's family go through a period of readjustment.

SOFAR: Strategic Outreach to Families of All Reservists, is a volunteer group of licensed mental health professionals that helps soldiers and their extended families at this time by offering FREE counseling services that are completely confidential to veterans, spouses, partners, children, mothers, fathers, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

All soldiers and families are changed by the experience of a deployment. Any change is hard, but is also an opportunity for growth. You and your family cannot return to the way it was before you deployed, but we can help you work on how it will be now, what will be the "new normal" for you and your extended family.

Services

SOFAR will mobilize licensed mental health professionals across the country to donate their time and talent to provide free counseling and support services.

Unlike private or government health insurance plans, SOFAR does not impose a limit on the number of counseling sessions available to families. No co-pays are required.

Services are designed to build resilience and keep families strong.
