Born and raised in Hanover, Lauren now resides in Quincy. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2008 with a double major in History and Political Science and attended Kingston University London in England where she graduated with a Master’s degree in Magazine Journalism in 2011.

Lauren currently serves as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Caucus of Women Legislators at the State House. It is a bipartisan, bicameral caucus that works towards bettering the lives of women throughout the Commonwealth. She focuses on policy, education and engaging with young women and girls. Prior to taking on this role in May 2014, she worked as the Legislative Aide to Representative Rhonda Nyman (D – Hanover) for over two years. Her main focus was constituent services, policy development and communications.

Lauren was appointed to the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women by former Senate President Therese Murray in October 2014. She served as Co-Chair of the Program and Planning Committee for two years and currently is Co-Chair of the Budget and Personnel Committee. The MCSW is a state-established body charged with reviewing the status of women in Massachusetts and offering recommendations regarding policy that would improve access to opportunities and equality.

In addition, Lauren is an active participant in the St. Jude Heroes running program, Back on My Feet running program and World Boston – a world affairs council.
