Marcia Huttner was appointed to the MCSW by Senate President Therese Murray. In 1997, she assumed the position of Marketing Director of the State House News Service, a 112-year-old news bureau reporting on the daily activities of state government at the State House and across MA. Huttner was instrumental in the creation of the Catastrophic Illness in Children Relief Fund (CICRF) in 2001. The CICRF provides critical financial support to families struggling to care for children with unreimbursed medical costs and has given away over $15 million to provide support to needy families. She also works part-time at the Adolescent Treatment Unit at McLean Hospital, coordinating enrichment programs such as knitting, and organizing trips to performing arts events for the teens. She holds a Master’s degree in Library Science from Pratt Institute and a Bachelor's degree from the City University of New York.
