Marianne Fleckner actively serves on the MCSW’s Executive Committee and is a former chair of the commission. She has earned the title as the longest-serving commissioner since her work with the commission began 13 years ago. She became a member of Rotary International in 2008 and is currently involved with its fundraising arm. The main purpose of the Rotary is to bring community businesses together on the local level and to eradicate polio and other diseases on the international level. She also serves as the Director of Human Resources for the town of Acton. In 2010, she became a member of Domestic Violence Services Network (DVSN), which provides services to domestic violence victims and their families and raises awareness about the issue to the communities it serves; she is now on the Program and Planning Committee and works extensively on organizing fundraisers and outreach events in aid of victims. Fleckner was also recently appointed as a Board member of the Center for Hope and Healing, a Rape Crisis Intervention Center in Lowell, where she hopes to concentrate her efforts on education and awareness.
