  • Objective

The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women’s (MCSW) Speaker’s Bureau lends the services of our commissioners and staff to speak about various issues that impact women throughout Massachusetts.  The Speaker’s Bureau has been established to educate, promote, and advocate the work of the MCSW. In furtherance of our mission, Commissioners are available to speak to groups about our current projects in order to educate the public on how the commission is working to advance issues that impact women.

Through this service, the Commission hopes to raise awareness of women’s issues, educate women about the resources of the Commission, and achieve positive change for women in the Commonwealth.

The Speaker’s Bureau, in its mission to further the goals of the MCSW, seeks to present speakers on the issues that are most pertinent to the Commission.  Currently, the Commission has been focused on economic self-sufficiency for women and ending violence against women.  Topics of talks could include:

    • Family-supportive policies
    • Increased awareness of all forms of violence against women
    • Pay equity
    • Effects of the recession on women
    • Women in public health
    • Women in public policy
