About Us

Commissioners

There are 19 Commissioners and they are appointed by one of the four governing authorities. The Governor appoints five Commissioners, the Senate President appoints four, the Speaker of the House appoints four, and the Caucus of Women Legislators appoints six.

The Commission is governed by Bylaws that outline the election of officers and the subcommittee structures within the Commission. There are various standing subcommittees within the Commission and each Commissioner sits on at least one subcommittee. Each subcommittee meets on a regular basis.

All Commission meetings are open to the public. However, if you plan to attend a Commission meeting, it is best to call the office the day before the meeting to RSVP in case of last-minute meeting changes. The number is 617-626-6520.
