Calendar of Upcoming Events

If you are interested in becoming more involved in the movement to advance women in the Commonwealth you can start by attending any one of the number of events and meetings taking place across the state in the coming weeks and months.

Brookline Women’s Commission 5th Annual Dress For Success Winter Coat and Clothing Drive

13th 11a.m.-7p.m., 14th 8a.m.-11a.m., Brookline Public Safety Headquarters. All donations should be appropriate for the workplace and clean/ready to wear. Cash donations for the Dress for Success dry cleaning fund will also be accepted. The Brookline Commission for Women is happy to accept nonperishable food donations for the Brookline Food Pantry. Jewish Women and Work: A Panel Discussion

Thursday, December 3, 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Liberman-Miller Lecture Hall, Women’s Studies Research Center, Brandeis University

Highlighting the landmark research in “Gender and American Jews: Patterns in Work, Education & Family in Contemporary Life” this panel discussion will address how Jewish women juggle work, family, and Jewishness. Len Saxe, Professor of Jewish Community Research and Social Policy at Brandeis University, and Director of the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies and the Steinhardt Social Research Institute, and Harriet Hartman, co-editor of "Gender and American Jews" and Professor of sociology, Rowan University, will present.  Sylvia Barack Fishman, chair of the Near Eastern and Judaic Studies Department and co-director of the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute, will moderate.
