New Requirements for Permitted Visitors of DOC Facilities

Updated: Dec. 18th, 2020, 3:57 pm

Effective immediately, all permitted visitors to a Department of Correction facility must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within the previous seventy-two (72) hours.

This includes attorneys, paralegals, law students, and private investigators. A negative test result is strongly encouraged but is not required for any person who has the statutory right of visitation as provided by M.G.L.  c. 127, sec. 36

Visitation for volunteers, institutional visitors, and inmate visitors remains suspended until further notice.

The screening protocol for employees will continue to be used for any vendor or contractor employee who is authorized to enter.
