Climate Change Adaptation

In September 2016, Governor Baker signed Executive Order 569, directing EEA and all of state government to begin planning and preparing for the ongoing impacts of climate change.

Climate changes, such as sea level rise, flooding, and extreme weather events are already affecting communities across Massachusetts. EEA is committed to combatting climate change by reducing carbon emissions, while preparing for the changes ahead to protect our residents, communities and businesses and build a more resilient Commonwealth.
