Billing for Level III.5 Services MassHealth pays substance abuse treatment providers for 24-hour subacute detoxification services designated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Bureau of Substance Abuse Services (BSAS) as Level III.5 or CSS (formerly known as Level III-B), for eligible MassHealth members of any age. All other conditions of 130 CMR 418.000 and 450.000 continue to apply. Providers should continue to use the following code when billing for this service: H0010: Alcohol and/or drug services; sub-acute detoxification (residential addiction program, inpatient) (formerly known as Level III-B, now known as Level III.5) Providers should consult Subchapter 6 of the Substance Abuse Treatment Manual for information on all other substance abuse treatment codes.
