Overview of 31st annual Firefighter of the Year Awards Ceremony

Join us for the 31st annual Firefighter of the Year Awards Ceremony on March 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. This year it will be a virtual ceremony because of the pandemic, but these brave firefighters deserve tremendous recognition. You can see it on Facebook or on YouTube.
Sixteen awards will be presented to 76 firefighters in these categories: Medal of Honor, Medal of Valor, Group Meritorious Conduct, Individual Meritorious Conduct, and the Norman Knight Award for Excellence in Community Service.
Firefighters from the departments of Attleboro, Chicopee, Fitchburg, Hanover. Hanson, New Bedford, Rockland and Worcester will be honored during the ceremony. Worcester Fire Lieutenant Jason Menard will be honored posthumously.
The virtual ceremony will include remarks from Governor Baker, Lt .Governor Polito, the award presentations, a tribute video to Worcester Fire Lt. Menard and in-person presentation of the Medal of Honor to Mrs. Tina Menard by Gov., Lt. Gov. and State Fire Marshal Ostroskey.
