Waypoint Adventure

Overview of Intermediate-level adaptive kayaking for groups on the Charles River at Kendall Square

Three kayaks are out on the water as the sun is setting. Two of the kayaks are tandem kayaks with closed cockpits.
Fees: $10 per person per session.

This program is for groups, camps, and summer programs for people with disabilities.

School groups, camps, and summer programs can sign up for kayaking with Waypoint Adventure to learn new skills and gain self-confidence. Work as a group to reach goals and have tons of fun! Enjoy the fun and serenity of the water all while being a part of a supportive community. Benefit from the wide array of adaptive kayaking equipment designed to meet your group’s needs. Waypoint Adventure’s highly trained staff will instruct, support, and encourage you as you learn new skills or further develop your existing ones. This kayaking program will be custom designed to fit the needs of you and your group.

This session is an intermediate level program for groups of all ages. Based on the goals of the program, this type of session could have the following qualities based on the enrollment of the group: (1) It could consist of folks who have been kayaking before and are ready to develop and learn more advanced kayaking skills. (2) It could consist of individuals who are familiar and comfortable with new social settings, can follow multi-step directions, or can stick to a task independently. (3) It could consist of kayakers age 16 or over. Trips may be longer in paddling distance (approximately 4-6 miles) and/or take the full day (approximately 5 hours).

You will need to register with Julia to sign up your school, camp, or summer program. Email jspruance@waypointadventure.org or call (781) 325-7980, ext 184.

You will also need to meet our essential eligibility criteria for paddling and fill out a UAP release form and a release form for Waypoint Adventure. Julia will give you site and program specific directions and send you the forms you'll need to fill out and return.
