Models of Engagement with Safe Routes to School
What: The Safe Routes to School (SRTS) team looks forward to discussing our shift from "Enforcement" to "Engagement" as part of our annual Webinar for Municipalities session. There will be special guest speakers from SRTS communities and breakout groups for lively discussions.
Agenda:
- Introduction: from "Enforcement" to "Engagement" (5 mins)
- Coalitions and Taskforces: building intentional opportunities for ongoing engagement (5 mins)
- Examples of Community Engagement: Guest speakers from SRTS communities demonstrating various levels of community support (15-20 mins)
- Breakout Groups: a guided discussion on shift from "Enforcement" to "Engagement" led by your Outreach Coordinators (20 mins)
- Breakout Group Recap (5-10 mins)
- Concluding Remarks and Q&A (5 mins)
Who Should Attend: The webinar content is designed for municipal staff (transportation/mobility, public works, planning, police department, public health, etc.), SRTS task members, SRTS Alliance Partners, and anyone interested in learning about the whole community approach to SRTS.
