Fisheries Research

Learn more about our research that is used to manage Massachusetts' fishery resources.

Our team of scientists collect, process, and analyze biological data from a wide range of fish species. Biological data collected from fish include age structures (i.e., scales, otoliths, and vertebrae), length frequencies, maturity stages, and bycatch levels. All data are used to inform stock assessments and create fisheries policies.
