Founded in 2012 by Harvard University and MIT, edX is a massive open online course provider. It hosts online university-level courses in a wide range of disciplines to a worldwide student body, including many courses at no charge.  In addition, edX offers MicroMasters programs to help students advance their careers and offer a path to an accelerated Master’s program. The MicroMasters courses are designed to be an easily accessible, provide a faster way to build targeted professional skills and offer pathways to college credits.
