Apply for a MassDEP internship

MassDEP is one of the agencies under the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. Its role under Article 97 of the Massachusetts Constitution is to act as the guarantor of the people's right to "clean air and water," as well as "the natural scenic, historic and aesthetic qualities of the environment."  To assist MassDEP with its succession planning, we continue to recruit individuals who are interested in utilizing their skills to protect our environment. The MassDEP Michelle Waters-Ekanem Internship Program provides opportunities to undergraduate, graduate, and law school students, as well as other individuals interested in careers in the environmental field.

With the 2024 Winter/Spring Michelle Waters-Ekanem Internship program underway, we would like to thank everyone that applied. Our next Internship session will be from June 2024 through October 2024. Applicants must be available for the entire program. 

Program details:

• Hours – Undergraduate/Graduate up to 22.5 hours per week/Law students 37.5 hours per week
• Hybrid – 1 day a week in office
• Salary – Undergraduate $22 hr./Law Students $26 hr.

We are constructing the details of the 2024 Summer/Fall Internship program and will have more information which will outline dates of applications, how to apply and project details. This information will be available in March 2024.
