What you need for Applying for a construction or vehicle access permit

You need a permit to access parkland managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation for construction, equipment installation, maintenance, or other related reasons. You also need a permit to drive a commercial vehicle on our parkways. To apply for a construction or vehicle access permit, you'll need the following items:

  1. For the online permits, an account at the new EEA ePLACE online permitting portal. These permits are the Annual Commercial Vehicle Permit and the Short-term Vehicle or POD Permit. Create and register for an account here.
  2. Access information, which includes route maps, vehicle information, and dates of access.
  3. Permits to submit in paper forms to DCR are the Boylston Street Moving Permit and the Construction Access Permit.

Fees for Applying for a construction or vehicle access permit

Online Fee information:

Short term parking, POD, or Road Use: $100 per calendar day

Annual road use: $150 per vehicle

 

Form submittal fee information:

Boylston Street Moving: $100 per vehicle

Construction Access Permits: $50.00 application fee

 

How to apply Applying for a construction or vehicle access permit

Use the new EEA ePLACE Permitting Portal to apply for the Annual Commercial Vehicle permit and the Short-term Vehicle or POD permit.

Submit paper permit forms for the Boylston Street Moving permit and the Construction Access permit.

Next steps for Applying for a construction or vehicle access permit

  1. The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will review your online permit application.

    DCR staff will review your online permit submissions and will contact you in the event there is more information needed to complete the review of your permit.

  2. DCR will review your submitted paper permit applications.

    Your paper applications will be reviewed by DCR staff and you will be contacted for more information if necessary. Double check all the information submitted in order to have no delays in getting your permit in a timely manner!

  3. Contact the EEA ePLACE portal or the DCR office with any questions or follow-up.
