Check Antlerless Deer Permit award status

If you applied for an Antlerless Deer Permit (sometimes called an ADP or doe permit) by the July 16 deadline, you still have to check to see if you were awarded a permit. Scroll down to learn how.

What you need   for Check Antlerless Deer Permit award status

  • You must have applied for the Antlerless Deer Permit by the July 16 deadline to be eligible for a permit.
  • You can check to see if you have been awarded the right to purchase the permit starting at 8 a.m. August 1. You can check your permit status any time between August 1 and December 31. Your odds of winning a permit are the same regardless of when you check your permit status.
  • If you are awarded an Antlerless Deer Permit, you must purchase it in order to  use it.
  • Additional Antlerless Deer Permits are available for certain zones starting in late September; learn more about surplus Antlerless Deer Permits.

How to check   Check Antlerless Deer Permit award status

If you apply for an Antlerless Deer Permit by the July 16 deadline, you can check your ADP status any time between August 1 and December 31. Your odds of obtaining a permit are the same regardless of when you check your permit status.

Go to MassFishHunt and log into your account. Once logged in, you will see a message prompting you to check your ADP status. 

After August 1, you can check the status of your permit by visiting a MassWildlife office or license agent location.

Surplus Anterless Deer Permit sales

Starting in late September, surplus Anterless Deer Permits will be available for sale until they have all sold out in each Wildlife Management Zone. You can purchase a surplus permit through MassFishHunt, at authorized license vendor locations, or at a MassWildlife office.

Antlerless Deer: Any deer without antlers or any deer with both antlers less than 3 inches long measured on a straight line from the center of the front base of the antler burr to the tip.
