What you need for Enroll in GIC health insurance benefits as an employee, retiree or survivor of a municipality joining the GIC
If you work for a new participating municipality and work at least 18.75 hours in a 37.5-hour workweek or 20 hours in a 40-hour workweek, and participate in a public retirement system, you are eligible for GIC health insurance benefits. Retirees from participating municipalities that receive a pension from a public retirement system and eligible survivors may also enroll. If your municipality has elected to participate in the GIC Retiree Dental program and you are a municipal retiree or survivor, you are eligible for this benefit.
