If you receive a MBTA fare evasion ticket, you have 30 days to pay it. Otherwise, you need to request a hearing within 30 days.
You'll be given verbal instructions on how to pay the fine, and the back of the ticket will also explain how to pay the fine. Fines for MBTA fare evasion are:
- First offense — $50
- Second offense — $100
- Third or subsequent offenses — $300
