ARIDE is a 2 day course offered to provide law enforcement personnel and other criminal justice professionals information in the area of drug impairment in the context of traffic safety.

What you need for Register for Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE)

The prerequisite for attending ARIDE is Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) certification. Most have completed SFST training in recruit academies from 1995 to date. 

Although the focus of ARIDE is on drug impaired driving, the participants will get review of the SFSTs. On the first day, after review, participants must show proficiency in SFSTs in front of an instructor. Participants must pass this proficiency to continue on in the ARIDE course.

Funding for this course is provided by the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS), Office of Grants & Research (OGR), and Highway Safety Division (HSD) by way of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This course is subject to cancellation if funding is not secured.

Prerequisites: Participants must be certified in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) 

Mandatory Class Materials: ARIDE Participant Manual (2018)

Login to the MPTC Acadis Portal to register for this class.

Training Enrollment

An active user account is required to enroll in MPTC training in this portal.

Access/New Account

Any active police officer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or other authorized user can request an account and access to the portal.
