If you are a victim or have been affected by a crime, you can register to receive notifications about the status of an offender. This includes notification if the offender is released or put on parole. Your registration is completely confidential.

What you need for Register to receive notifications about an offender

Offenders are not notified if you register to receive notifications. Your registration is completely confidential.

You can receive notification about an offender if you are:

  • A victim of the offender's crime
  • A witness to the crime
  • A family member of a victim who is deceased, incompetent, or a minor
  • The parent or guardian of a victim or witness who is a minor or incompetent
  • Concerned for your safety

Once you register, you will be notified if the offender:

  • Is moved to a less secure facility
  • Escapes from their facility
  • Is released (including temporary, provisional, or final release)

How to register Register to receive notifications about an offender

To register by mail, you must:

  • Print and fill out the registration form
  • Include one of the following with your form:
    • A police report
    • A district attorney summons
    • A letter from a district attorney victim witness advocate

After filling out the registration form, you can email your completed form to our office for victim services.

You must include one of the following with your completed form:

  • A police report
  • A district attorney summons
  • A letter from a district attorney victim witness advocate

If you are a victim working with a victim witness advocate, they can electronically submit your form on your behalf.

To register by fax, you must:

  • Print and fill out the registration form
  • Include one of the following with your form:
    • A police report
    • A district attorney summons
    • A letter from a district attorney victim witness advocate

If you are working with a court appointed victim witness advocate, you can work with them at court to register.
