Overview

The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) is providing a grant opportunity through its Clean Vehicle Program for public and private fleet vehicles operating within the Commonwealth. As part of a statewide clean energy initiative, the DOER is providing a financial incentive for the replacement and conversion of conventional vehicles to integrate alternative, cleaner burning, fuel reducing technologies. Eligible applicants will be funded eighty percent (80%) of the differential cost of the retrofit and/or upfit of their conventional vehicles replaced with alternative fuel vehicles/technologies. A minimum run time commitment of 5 years is required for the maintenance and implementation of the alternative fuel technology/vehicle conversion in eligible fleets. Applicants are responsible for contacting vendors to supply the vehicle replacement or retrofit services. The Clean Cities Coalition in partnership with the DOER will then review applications and determine applicant eligibility. Small businesses are encouraged to take advantage of this cost-effective fuel conversion to further develop greener energy efficiencies across Massachusetts. The priority of this deployment program opportunity is the replacement of conventional fuel fleet vehicles and not the expansion of current fleets.

The grant funds will be awarded on a first come first served basis for eligible applicant projects. The program opportunity and grant information will be distributed by the COMMBUYS service.
