Instructor Certification Process in MPTC Acadis Portal

The Instructor Certification process is completed online via the MPTC Acadis Portal. This process eliminates the need for submitting paper applications.

What you should know

  • Instructor certification requests must be initiated by the department Chief or Agency Point of Contact.
  • Applicants will need MPTC Acadis Portal access to complete an application.
    • If you are an officer and do not have a portal user account, you must contact your agency head (or designee) to request access.
    • If you are a civilian and do not have a portal account, send an email MPTCAcadis@Mass.Gov to request portal access.
  • The MPTC Acadis Portal allows instructors to update personal contact information, print certification confirmations and renew certifications.
  • All MPTC Instructors and Instructor Applicants who teach for the MPTC will still be required to submit an MPTC state fiscal instructor contract.

How to initiate an Instructor Certification Request

  • The instructor certification process will be initiated by the department Chief or Agency Point of Contact.
  • Department Chiefs and Agency Points of Contact will have access to view employees’ certifications on the MPTC Acadis Portal.
  • If the employee you are requesting an instructor certification application for is not listed in your department in the MPTC Acadis Portal, please refer to the MPTC Acadis Portal user guide for next steps.
  • Instructor Certification Renewal: Department Chief or Agency Point of Contact authorization will no longer be required for instructor certification renewal on a specific topic. We are relying on the Department Chief or Agency Point of Contact to tell us when the MPTC should either revoke an instructor certification or not renew it. Otherwise, we will assume the instructor has remained in good standing with your department.

How to Renew Instructor Certification

Department Chief or Agency Point of Contact authorization will no longer be required for instructor certification renewal on a specific topic.

An active instructor completes the request for renewal after they have met the recertification requirement.

  • Applicants will need MPTC Acadis Portal access to complete an application.
