Table of Contents

The Standing Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure solicits comments on proposed revisions to Mass. R. Civ. P. 30. As explained in the committee memorandum, the current proposed amendments respond to  comments received after publication of an earlier proposal for amendments. The most significant revision in the current proposal is that it calls for the person noticing a deposition to choose whether the deposition will be taken in-person or by remote means (noticer’s choice).

The proposed amendments and the committee’s explanatory memorandum are linked below.

Comments should be directed to Christine Burak, Supreme Judicial Court, John Adams Courthouse, One Pemberton Square, Boston, MA  02108 on or before  December 29, 2023. Comments also may be emailed to christine.burak@jud.state.ma.us. Comments received will be made available to the public.
