    Who is the HST Office?

The HST Office oversees non-emergency medical transportation for MassHealth members as well as transportation for Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Department of Public Health (DPH), Department of Mental Health (DMH), Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC), and Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) programs. MassHealth covers transportation for trips to medical, dental, mental health, or substance use disorder appointments, as well transportation to Day Habilitation programs. The HST Office is part of the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services.

What will the orientation sessions discuss?

In 2019, we held public listening sessions and issued several Requests for Information to gather feedback from consumers and stakeholders. In December 2020, we completed a competitive procurement for the HST Brokerage Services and announced contractor selection in January 2021. In April 2021, we held six consumer information sessions to share how we are implementing improvements in the HST Brokerage System based on what we heard from you in 2019 and offer consumers the chance to meet the Brokers and share questions and feedback.

In mid-May and early June, HST and the Brokers are holding orientation sessions for members who will be using HST transportation services under the new contract which will begin on July 1st. The Brokers will be presenting information about new technology such as web-based options and smartphone apps for booking trips. There will be time for attendees to ask questions and make comments.
