Your employer is not allowed to punish you for applying for or taking paid family or medical leave.

Overview

The Department does not investigate or provide judgement for cases where an employer has been accused of retaliating against an employee for taking paid leave benefits.

If you believe that your employer has retaliated against you or threatened to retaliate against you for exercising your rights under paid family and medical leave law, or have interfered with your ability to exercise your rights under paid family and medical leave law, you may institute a civil action in Superior Court.
