Definitions

YOR - year of record; the calendar year for the data in the report
ACP - facility reports annually due to a condition of the facility's permit
Formerly OP For Prior CY - the facility had an Operating Permit during some part of the reporting year; the facility is required to report for that year
Closed OP and Closed GHG - facility closed during the reporting year; the facility is required to report SRGHG emissions data for this reporting year.
Closed-GHG - facility closed during the reporting year; the facility is required to report GHG emissions data for the reporting year
GHG - a greenhouse gas emissions reporter
NES (NESHAP) - the facility emits an air contaminant subject to a NESHAP and therefore reports annually
NO2 - the facility emitted 25 tons or more of NO2
OP - the facility has an Operating Permit and therefore reports annually
PB - the facility emitted 0.5 tons or more of PB
RES - the facility has a Restricted Emissions Status permit and therefore reports annually   
VOC - the facility emitted 25 tons or more of VOCs

Notice for Filers Due in 2024

NOTICE FOR FILERS DUE IN 2024: Filing deadlines for 2023 data will be those in the Source Registration (SR) and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) regulations.  Where a facility is due to file a combined Source Registration and GHG report for Reporting Year 2023, the combined report is due on the due date for Source Registration provided in the regulations (310 CMR 7.12 and 7.71).  Examples: (1) for a 3-year filer for SR that is also required to file a GHG emissions report, the the combined report will be due on April 1, 2024 (next year, when the facility files a GHG-only report, it will also be due on April 1); and (2) for an Appendix C (Operating Permit) facility, which is required to file both SR and GHG emission reports, the combined report is due on May 1, 2024.

CONTACT MASSDEP:  CALL- facility should email baw.edep@mass.gov for clarification of the prior filing status for that facility. Also, where the "SR/GHG Due Date in 2023" column lists a due date, your facility is required to submit 2022 data, as well as needing to submit a prior reporting year(s) data.

EXCEPTIONS:  There may be other facilities that meet the requirements for filing Source Registration that are not on this list -- such facilities still must file their Source Registration if required according to 310 CMR 7.12. If you believe your facility should be on this list but is not, contact the Help Desk at baw.edep@mass.gov  

EXCEPTIONS:  Certain facilities may be required to file annually by their MassDEP Permit or required to file by an enforcement action or some other communication from MassDEP and this requirement may not be reflected on this list. Such facilities must file according to their Permit or such other communication from MassDEP regardless of their designation in this list.
