In August 2018, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts passed legislation that updates the Department of Early Education and Care’s (EEC) Background Record Check (BRC) requirements, consistent with new federal mandates for EEC programs. EEC is making changes to the BRC process in accordance with state and federal law. The changes are being phased in over a two year period starting on October 1, 2018. Historical BRC documents that are still applicable will remain on this page until they are no longer in effect.
