Did you know?
Social Security and Supplemental Security Income recipients got a 2% increase in their benefits for 2018.

These changes are because of a cost of living adjustment (COLA). The SSA COLA may cause a household's monthly cash or SNAP benefits to change. The SSA COLA happened January 1, 2018.

DTA Benefit Changes
In February, DTA benefits will change by a small amount for many households due to the SSA COLA. Households will get a notice about this change.

Maximize your benefits!
Households that are not getting the maximum benefit amount should let us know about certain costs:

  • Utility costs
  • Child support payments
  • Medical costs
  • Shelter costs and/or
  • Dependent care costs

These may help households get more in DTA benefits.

Department of Transitional Assistance

The Department of Transitional Assistance assists and empowers low-income individuals and families to meet their basic needs, improve their quality of life, and achieve long term economic self-sufficiency. DTA serves one in eight residents of the Commonwealth with direct economic assistance (cash benefits) and food assistance (SNAP benefits), as well as workforce training opportunities.
