Executive Office for Administration and Finance Secretary Kristen Lepore today named\u00a0Ronald J. Arigo\u00a0as Chief Human Resources Director for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts effective\u00a0October 1, 2016.\u00a0 In his role, Mr. Arigo will head the Human Resources Division (HRD), which is responsible for the talent acquisition and management for Executive Branch employees.\u00a0\n\n\u201cRon is an accomplished human resources professional with decades of experience that will help advance the Commonwealth\u2019s workforce,\u201d\u00a0said Secretary Kristen Lepore. \u201cAs the head of HRD, Ron will lead our efforts to attract and retain the best talent and to provide them the skills to deliver the high-level services that taxpayers deserve.\u201d\n\n\u201cI am excited about the opportunity to work with Governor Baker, Lt. Governor Polito, and Secretary Lepore,\u201d said Arigo.\u00a0 \u201cI look forward to partnering with the HR team to attract, develop and promote talented staff who deliver exemplary service to the residents of the Commonwealth.\u201d\n\nRon Arigo will replace Paul Dietl, who has worked at HRD since 1997, including the past 9 years as the head of the agency.\u00a0 \u201cI thank Paul for his long service to the Commonwealth and his time at HRD, and wish him well in his future endeavors,\u201d\u00a0said Secretary Lepore.\n\nHuman Resources Division is an agency within the Executive Office for Administration and Finance responsible for employment opportunities, diversity programs, training and development, workers\u0027 compensation, civil service examinations, workforce policies and employee and labor relations.\n\u00a0\n\nAbout Ronald J. Arigo\n\nMr. Arigo was most recently a senior vice president of the New Jersey-based Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, a global Fortune 200 property \u0026 casualty insurance company. As one of Chubb\u2019s most senior HR executives, Mr. Arigo was recently responsible, as the Chief Learning Officer, for the company\u2019s global learning platform for both employees and its independent agent distribution channel. \u00a0Additionally, Mr. Arigo oversaw Chubb\u2019s HR global operations, including the company\u2019s HR budget and HR information systems. Previous to these roles, he was responsible for managing U.S.-based HR business partners who were accountable for all HR critical deliverables, such as talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits and employee relations.\u00a0\n\nMr. Arigo has an MBA from Boston University\u2019s Executive MBA program and earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in economics from Boston College. In addition, his executive education includes Harvard University\u2019s Strategic Human Resources Management Program, and the Corporate Leadership Council\u2019s HR Leadership Academy.\n\nRon\u2019s involved with Boston-area professional and non-profit organizations, including The Human Resource Leadership Forum, the Society of Human Resources Managers (SHRM), and Community Servings. Within his community, Ron was Co-President of the Dover-Sherborn Education Fund and has served on the Town of Sherborn\u2019s Personnel Board and Governance Committee.
