Michael Flanagan, Interim Director

Boston — Every roofing contractor is required to have their workers use fall protection.

In 2017, there were 381 deaths in the construction industry due to falls, and numerous injuries.

We are asking for your help to save lives and prevent injuries. Confirm with your roofing contractor that they will be using fall protection when working at your home. Fall protection saves lives, and prevents injuries. It’s the law!

If you do not see a safety harness being worn, talk to your roofing contractor. You could save a life!

Contractors and homeowners can learn more about fall protections by contacting the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards’ OSHA Consultation Program at (508) 616-0461 x9716. Information is also available at osha.gov/SLTC/fallprotection.
