Boston — The Bristol Superior Court will host its third annual Naturalization Ceremony where approximately 10 men and women will become new American citizens during a "social distancing" celebration.  Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place in front of the Fall River Justice Center, 186 South Main Street, on Friday, October 23, at 10 am. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved to Courtroom 9. The celebration is one of hundreds of activities taking place across the state to celebrate the Massachusetts Trial Court’s 4th Annual Cultural Appreciation Week, October 19-23.

Fall River Clerk of Courts Marc Santos and Judge Karen Green will preside over the ceremony for the individuals whose original countries include Portugal, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Guatemala, Haiti, Jamaica, and Mexico. The soon-to-be, new American citizens will take an Oath of Allegiance.

"I am honored to preside over Friday's ceremony with Clerk Santos," Judge Green stated. "I know how hard these women and men have worked to become Americans. I look forward to welcoming them and to celebrating their new citizenship with them."

In addition to the Naturalization Ceremony, Bristol Superior Court Probation will be among the more than 70 courts, court offices and departments, and Community Corrections Center hosting food and supply drives across the state to assist those struggling financially during the pandemic. Bristol Superior Court will donate non-perishable food to local charities.
