- Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance
In a unique approach to contract compliance, the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) has joined the University of Massachusetts Building Authority (UMBA) Design & Construction Working Group to monitor compliance on the Lowell Justice Center construction project and various UMBA UMass Lowell projects.
The agencies co-sponsored an outreach event on Saturday, October 28, 2017 to highlight the large volume of public construction activity in Lowell (over $500M) in the hopes of increasing the pool of eligible and diverse contractors, consultants and tradespersons available to bid, work on and meet contract diversity goals on projects in the city. Over 100 attendees learned about participating as a tradesperson or business on existing or upcoming projects.
DCAMM was represented by staff from our Contractor Certification, Compliance, Design & Construction and Energy Offices. In addition to general contractors and subcontractors, other industry stakeholders like the City of Lowell, the Commonwealth’s Supplier Diversity Office and Designer Selection Board, union halls, apprentice and pre-apprenticeship organizations were in attendance.
