LEXINGTONLexington Fire Chief Derek S. Sencabaugh, Lexington Interim Police Chief Michael McLean and State Fire Marshal Peter J. Ostroskey are asking for the public’s help with an arson fire on May 29, 2021 at 840 Emerson Garden Road in-Lexington. This is the former site of the Golden Living assisted living center.

Fire investigators determined that Saturday’s fire was intentionally-set. Workers who returned to the construction site on Tuesday after the long weekend found evidence of a second, smaller fire.

The property is a new housing development and none of the buildings are occupied yet. It abuts the Arlington’s Great Meadows Conservation Land. “If anyone was in the neighborhood or who was using the trails on the conservation land on Saturday afternoon heard or saw anything, please call the Arson Hotline at 1-800-682-9229, or the Lexington Fire Department at 781-698-4747,” said Chief Sencabaugh. All calls are confidential.

The Arson Hotline is part of the Arson Watch Reward Program that provides rewards of UP TO $5,000 for information that helps to solve the case. It is funded by the property and casualty insurance companies of Massachusetts.

The fires are being jointly investigated by the Lexington Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
